“At every turn in history, iconic men and women; those exceptional people with unprecedented breadth of service to humanity, the icons whose trajectory stand them apart from the packs, appear like the comet to beautify our world. Great achievers and product of inspiration, such rare breeds of men and women do not appear from the abyss of frivolity, vainglory or wishful thinking. Inspiration and courage gave birth to them while patriotism and passion for hard work nurtured them into limelight and ingrained them in our hearts” Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade.
Ebira land and Nigeria by extension has been very fortunate to be blessed with such a thoroughbred. I talk of a woman and a mother to all. “Mummy” as she is fondly called by the staff of TaoFm where I have been working as a voluntary worker for sometimes now is truly a mother figure to all.
As the General Manager of the organization, one would expect a boss who will merely boss people around the workplace as common with most people in such positions. But ‘unlike many personalities, the airs and high horse common with people of substance and caliber that she is’ will never be found around her in the office.
That is the “Big Mama” simple, refined and the perfect example that one can give in explaining a professional inclined person. A rare breed in a society that is afflicted with partisanship and biased ‘professionals’, it is rare to see a woman like “Mummy” who goes about her everyday duties without partisanship, fear or favor for anybody or party. A resourceful woman that speaks on almost all the burning issues in the country and Ebira land objectively and from the perspective of the ordinary Nigerian.
There was once a rumor about how the Big Mama out rightly rejected an offer of promotion from an official of the state government while she works at Radio Kogi, stating categorically to the official that he should proceed to promote those at the lower cadre who has earned it. Such is the Identity of a woman so complete and uncompromising, a consummate humanist with startling qualities that one would not expect from a woman in a society that is so structured to favour certain sex.
My first contact with Mummy was in her office my first day at work, a simple woman who demands nothing short of the best from staff and people, serving as a source of inspiration to all and sundry. Her love for productivity, efficiency and hard work is obvious to any discerning fellow as these qualities are ever-present in her everyday conversation and dealings with workers and all. She is nothing short of a living legend whose legacies and teachings will linger on.
The Big Mama, our Mummy and the Mother of all, thank you for being a source of inspiration to me, many upcoming journalists and the entire Ebira land as a whole. The Golden Voice on Radio, may you live long enough to fully impact the society and complete your purpose on earth.

The current crops of “cyberlists” have intermittently portrayed themselves as folks who are alien to decorum and responsibility. They hide under the toga of criticism and run amok with every unimaginable piece of lie under the earth, crossing every line of decency and honesty. Painfully, this very concept and definition of criticism utterly elude them.
It is obvious that, a society where a line is not drawn between value and vices is at the precipice of lawlessness, but alas greater is the number of folks who seem to mesmerize in the pools of social vices and any attempt to purge the menace is greeted with a shout of blue murder!
There is definitely no wrong in exercising every human right conceived by the Constitution, not limited to the freedom of speech and expression only but no provision in the Constitution to make oneself a law unto himself /herself. This is where the self –styled critics lose the point, turning themselves into cyber rogues, tempting the law.
It is trite to say …

Women; special wonders by U.K Umar

The scriptural narratives of how man was created (carved with mud and life was breath into him) is easily relatable because the human brain can relate the story to a sculptor who used the medium of mud to create a human sculptor and with the powers, he blew into it life and praaaa! a man is made.
The stories are not the same for the woman. The popular one has it that she's made out of a man's rib. That requires some degree of faith to take in. A lot of people around our human world hold strongly to this angle. This has it's implications on how women are perceived by men. A tale too common and ugly to repeat.
What is obvious to the eyes is that both men and women are unique in their physical attributes. These uniqueness are complimentary and not basis for judging superiority or inferiority. Our world is replete with evidences that prove that both men and women are capable of just about anything. The potential for good or bad could be found across the sexe…
